UNBROKEN CITIES – LVIV, MANCHESTER AND LIVERPOOL UNITE TO DEVELOP REHABILITATION
To unite the efforts of cities worldwide to develop and support rehabilitation in Ukraine. This was the decision of the leaders of Lviv and two cities in the UK. Mayors Andriy Sadovyi, Andrew Burnham, and Liam Robinson signed a letter of intent that confirmed the parties’ willingness to cooperate in this area. The event occurred in the Polish city of Krakow and was organized by the American foundation One World Strong.
The initiative is called the UNBROKEN Cities Network, with Lviv, Manchester, and Liverpool as the founding cities. The community is supposed to bring together caring towns worldwide that are interested in and willing to help Ukraine. The main area of focus is the support and development of rehabilitation in Ukraine. In addition, the network will support Lviv and other Ukrainian cities affected by the war, both technically and strategically.
The idea of the network belongs to Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham. The mayor explained that he was impressed when Andriy Sadovyi first told him about the activities and purpose of the UNBROKEN humanity ecosystem based in Lviv.
The meeting with the initiative group was also attended by Dave Fortier, head of the American foundation One World Strong, Karen Guenther, president of Semper Fi & America’s Fund, and Oleksandr Kobzarev, executive director of the UNBROKEN charitable foundation.
“This is a great initiative aimed at developing Lviv and Ukraine. Another important thing is that this way, we can spread our UNBROKEN mission and share the experience of Lviv,” said Oleksandr Kobzarev.
The network of cities will expand in the future, and a couple of German cities have already expressed their desire to join.
