GERMAN PROSTHETIST CAME TO UNBROKEN TO HELP WITH PROSTHETICS FOR PATIENTS

He helps to improve the knowledge of Ukrainian prosthetists and makes iron limbs side by side with them. German prosthetics specialist Marvin Elsasser came to the National Rehabilitation Center UNBROKEN for the second time.

During his last visit, Marvin conducted a two-day workshop on upper limb prosthetics for everyone interested. This time, he is improving the skills of the Center’s prosthetists and working directly with complicated cases of patients.

Among them is 32-year-old physical education teacher Valentyn Anokhin.

This year, in July, a tank shell exploded three meters away from the man in the Kupyansk-Lyman section of the frontline. A piece of ammunition shattered his left hand. And now, after a long rehabilitation, Valentyn is one step away from the installation of a bionic arm. He dreams of throwing the ball into the basket with it.

The training is part of the Rehabilitation and Prosthetics for Ukrainians in Ukraine project, which is being implemented through the Ukrainian Rapid Response Fund program, implemented by IREX in Ukraine with the support of the U.S. Department of State.
