Delegations from South Africa, Brazil, South Korea, Rwanda, Singapore, Côte d’Ivoire, India, Luxembourg, Monaco, the Netherlands, Turkey, Canada, Switzerland, Turkey, the United States, and the United Kingdom saw and heard the stories of patients treated at the UNBROKEN National Rehabilitation Center in Lviv.

ChangeNOW, the world’s largest conference dedicated to the environment and pressing problems of the planet, lasted three days in Paris. There, Oleksandr Kobzarev, Executive Director of the UNBROKEN Charitable Foundation, addressed the world audience on “Navigating through times of polycrisis.”

“This is the first time we are participating in such an event. This is a huge exhibition for investors, startups, public initiatives, charitable organizations, and decision-makers, with a total of 35 thousand participants. Here, we had the opportunity to present the UNBROKEN ecosystem and establish contacts that will grow into fruitful cooperation,” said Oleksandr Kobzarev, Executive Director of the UNBROKEN Foundation.

In his speech, Oleksandr Kobzarev reminded the audience of the war and Russian missiles that fly over the heads of Ukrainians every day and of the decisions that need to be made to help Ukrainians, in particular in the area of physical and psychosocial rehabilitation.

“It was important to note that Ukraine has become a center for testing military technologies because of the war. But the country should become a center of excellence for humanitarian solutions that help treat, rehabilitate, prosthetics, and reintegrate people affected by the war. Many of the listeners have supported and personally visited Ukraine, know the scale of the Russian-Ukrainian war, and are eager to help,” summarized Alexander Kobzarev.

Ukraine and UNBROKEN were invited to ChangeNOW as a foreign delegation for the first time this year, which correlates with the Summit’s name, ChangeNOW. The organizers believe that our initiative is organically combined with their First Responder program, emphasizing the critical importance of timely and practical support for those in need.

La French Tech Kyiv helped organize the event. In addition to UNBREAKABLE, Ukraine was represented by several Ukrainian startups with green technologies, a circular economy, and the city of Vinnytsia. Speakers at the Summit in previous years included Emmanuel Macron and Justin Trudeau.

The UNBROKEN National Rehabilitation Center is a unique place where adults and children affected by war receive comprehensive, qualified medical care. This includes reconstructive surgery, orthopedics, and robotic prosthetics. Not only are prostheses fitted to the victims, but they are also manufactured here. The center also provides physical, psychological, and psychosocial rehabilitation for injured military and civilians. The goal of the center is to prevent people with war injuries from having to go abroad for treatment and to provide them with life-saving prosthetic and rehabilitation services in Ukraine.
