Burn injury
Mine-explosive injuries are almost always accompanied by burns. Ukrainian homes and military vehicles, like matches, burn from enemy missiles and bombs. Deep burns of the face and limbs, scars, soft tissue defects - people with such injuries are sent to the Unbroken Center because we are the main burn center of Ukraine.
The Unbroken center has a children’s and an adult department. Our combustiologists and plastic surgeons work together with the best specialists from Italy, USA and Great Britain. Together with them, they implement advanced world technologies. In particular, together with Roberto Brambilla - a surgeon engaged in regenerative medicine - artificial skin was transplanted to a child who suffered from missile fire.
Also there is a Skin Bank at the Unbroken Center. Our specialists are the first in Ukraine to provide skin from a posthumous donor to a one-year-old child with burns.
